Cheese Toasties

On Monday evening, I met a nice British couple and their daughter who are visiting the US. They came to visit his aunt and her family, but were suddenly left without a place to stay. They ended up staying with a friend of mine from church. I had the opportunity to spend the day with them today before their return trip to England tomorrow. We went to the Fort Worth zoo and were surrounded by animals...some wild, some human, some both. By "chance" we landed there on Wednesday - half price day. (YEAH!) We were glad for the savings, but it did bring in quite a crowd. We were blessed with nice zoo weather and many of the animals were out and active.

After a refreshing rest, we went to dinner at Applebees. We were looking at the menu and I was asked what grilled cheese was. After describing it, I found that in England it is called a Cheese Toastie. (prounounced with a British accent) Since that is a fun name, I decided to adopt the British terminology for my future grilled cheese sandwiches. "Could I have a cheese toastie, please?"
